        Solar energy is the nuclear power generated by the Sun. At 93 million miles away this energy is delivered to us in abundance. Solar radiation destroys everything over time. Modern solar panels convert this powerful and infinite energy source into tax free revenue for all. You just need to harness that power, it is there for you to grab.

        A properly designed solar system will provide to you directly, the units of energy you would normally purchase from your utility. These units are kilowatt hours (kwh). Instead of paying whatever they decide to charge you (and ever-increasing), your solar system will provide you with the kwh's for pennies on the dollar. Panels go up, bills go down!

        Solar panels are installed on your roof or property. These panels absorb the sun's energy and convert it into DC electricity. A solar inverter then converts the DC electricity into AC electricity, which is used to power your home or business. Most systems are grid-tied, this means that we are connecting to the grid through your meter. Your meter will be bi-directional and the energy you send back to the grid will provide you with credits to your utility account. Think if these as "in-store" credits that you cash in when your solar production drops.

        Solar energy is renewable, sustainable, and clean. It can help reduce your energy bills, decrease your carbon footprint, and increase the value of your property.

        You should seek a company that has at least a 20 year warranty and panels with a 25-year warranty. 

        If you can get a guarantee on production that's a bonus.

        There are a few solar companies that are also roofing companies that would be highly recommended. Ideally your roof will last as long as the solar warranty which should be minimum 20 years. If needed many companies will remove and replace the panels for a small fee in 10 years for example.

        If you pay federal income taxes you may be eligible to receive a credit of up to 30% of the total system cost. New York State offers up $5000. New Jersey has other very strong incentives based on production. 

        It won't. The current state of solar technology is perfectly suited  to supplement and/or replace your electric consumption. Any improvements will be incremental, as indicated by the last 20 yrs. Many 20 year old systems are still working quite well with no need for upgrade.

        Metal roofs work well with solar. There are special clips that allow the solar racking to attach to the ridge or elevated seam of the roofing panel.

        Everyone loves solar, especially realtors. Your house will bring a higher value and be more likely to sell as long as you have a warranty in place. Be sure that the company will transfer your warranty to the new owner. You should also be able to easily illustrate your cumulative savings as proof of the solar viability.

        Typically there is nothing required of the homeowner. All climate and weather data is taken into account including snow. If you live near highway and have a lot of tire dust that may contribute to degradation but for the most part everything will wash off with the rain. A good company should maintain a service contract and performance analysis each year.
